On Saturday, August 21, 2010, guests turned out in record numbers to be part of the Boys & Girls Club of the Monroe Area's 1st Annual Celebration Gala at the Scott Mansion in Tellico Plains.   More than 265 people attended this event, many of whom elected to purchase the VIP ticket package which provided them with a special early-bird tour of the historic home, as well as a preview of the many unique auction items.

 

The spacious and picturesque grounds surrounding this magnificent structure provided the perfect setting for the white linen tablecloths and pastel backdrops showcasing the extraordinary appetizers prepared by Chef Michael Janke and the delightful displays of merchandise. 

 

Despite a few sprinkles early on, along with continued threats of rain throughout the afternoon, everything went beautifully.  

 

Of course, the main objective of this celebration event was to raise money so that the Boys & Girls Club can continue its mission of service to the youth of our community.  We are so pleased to report that because of the overwhelming generosity of our many supporters, we raised well over $60,000.00.
