The Boys & Girls Club is experiencing the same financial hardships that so many currently are.  Since many of our donors are unable to give anything at this time, it is crucial that those who ARE able to give, give more!  All of our children and their families are suffering right now.  We cannot be another source of disappointment to them by cutting back on our services.  They need us now more than ever.......and we need YOU now more than ever.

Please consider a donation to the Boys & Girls Club of the Monroe Area so that we can continue to provide for the children we serve.  The stability that we offer them is paramount at this time to their safety and well-being.  Help them to stay optimistic about their futures.

Thank you.

Volunteer Opportunities:

Our members love to learn new things and learn about life outside Monroe County. They enjoy hearing stories of far away places.  They are keenly interested in what opportunities are available to them once they complete their educational journey.  Could you possibly share some of your life experiences with these eager youngsters?
Do you have a special talent or particular hobby you would be interested in sharing?  For instance, if you crochet and would be interested in teaching a group how to do this, we can use your talents.
You decide the age group you would like to work with, how many you would like in a group, and how often you would like to come  -  even if it is only once.  We have locations in every town within Monroe County, and are open during the school year from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., and during the summer from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
If you would like to explore some of the possible ways you can make a difference in the life of a child, please call the home office at 423-442-6770 for more information.

Sponsor a Child Program:

Many of our members are unable to pay the minimal weekly fee we have to charge for our after-school and summer care.  These children are funded through scholarships and grants.  Our Sponsor a Child program allows a child to reap the benefits of our program at absolutely no cost to his or her family.  A gift of $250.00 pays for one semester, $500.00 pays for the  school year after-school program, and a gift of $1,000.00 pays for the entire year - - after-school care, summer care from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and all field trips.
Statistics show that most juvenile crime is committed between the hours of 3:00 and 6:00 p.m.  This is the most vulnerable time for youth and they are the most susceptible at this time to not only getting themselves into trouble, but of falling prey to outside predators.  Not having appropriate supervision and guidance has devastating effects on the lives of children left to their own resources.
To sponsor a child for an entire year guarantees that child the nurturing and stability he or she needs to have a chance at a bright, successful future.
