Madison Taylor
2016 Youth of the Year Age: 15 Attends: Sequoyah High School Awards/Inductions: National Junior Beta Club Society, Perfect Attendance, Honor Roll Madisonv is a 9th grader at Sequoyah High School and currently participates in their Marching Band. Madison is in several different clubs and activities at her school to which means most of her afterschool free time is full. Madison's dream is to be a Medical Doctor and sees herself attending her first years of college at Hiwassee College to begin that career path.  Madison attends the Madisonville Unit and has since the summer prior to 4th grade when she moved here from Knoxville. In her recent Youth of the Year essay submission, Madison states "We didn't know anyone in the area & were unsure how to go about meeting people. It can be difficult being the new kid." Madison goes on to say that after starting the club in the summer session she met "some great adults among the staff that provided a safe, stable support system." Mrs. Judy Evans, Madisonville & Vonore Unit Director states, "Madison was an extremely shy little girl that stayed to herself and no one truly knew how intelligent and creative she was." Mrs. Evans went onto say that after spending some time wtih her she knew she needed to help build her self-esteem and began challenging her to particpate in more "socially motivated" activities. And she has done just that!
